JUMP 2011 @ 11:44 PM

Comic Martial Arts Performance
Esplanade Theatre
Sat 13 Aug 2011 8:00 PM
Circle 2 Door 9

JUMP is the first non-verbal performance to infuse blend Korean fighting arts of Taekwondo and Taekgyeondo, with incredible gymnastics skills in a comical style. This show is show a refreshing change from other nonverbal performances out there.

A typical Korean family from an autocratic head of the household – the grandfather, to a drunken uncle played by Eun Yong Yang (look Like Kenjo San)..lol, a tae-kwon-do expert mother to the awkward potential son-in-law. Each member of the family is a martial arts expert and loves to compete their martial arts skills among themselves. The plot thickens when two burglars break into the family home in the middle of the night and a mighty battle takes place when the family discovers the intruders.

I love the son-in-law played by Sang Hee Yoon. He is a shy bookworm with a hunky alter ego. Once he takes off his glasses, he will transform into a martial arts power-house. *Electrocuted Style*zZZzZeee*. The performers in JUMP did execute the humour together with the martial acts really well!
I agree that non-verbal communication does give people a wider range and variety to express and understand each other.
